Started off the day early enough to hit the road...found that the hotel at Zion only allowed checkin after 3. So we had a crepe breakfast in Paris before hitting the road. I made an expression of "let us tango" which caused the first cold chill for the morning. So the detour to Zion changed and we were instead on our way to Bryce. The first sight of the Red Canyon was so wonderful. From thereon we decided to go the topmost spot. But on the way we did see some striped deer (not sure if they were elks or not). Got out to get some photos and that caused the second chill for the morning...a long one. Lunch was delayed before we decided to continue, and not to forget it was pretty late around 4PM by then. We got to the top and had our first glimpse of Bryce. Then we started our drive down, stopping at all the points on the way. The sun was setting fast and so the view though spectacular was getting to be not so bright any more. By the time we stopped again to view the next set of striped fellow, it was past sunset. So when we got to the main Bryce point it was dark, but still we enjoyed the view. Sandhya had a walk into the sunset while I was tinkering with the camera, before it died for the night.
We were famished, and were so happy to see a spot on our way back to Zion. A wonderful spot where the food tasted wonderful, esp since we were starving. After that was a drive through the night, and then some ziggies of Zion before we got to our hotel. A great place and we were just about ready to hit the bed.
